PESHAWAR (Staff Report) – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government on Monday ripped apart its provincial head’s order, blocking the roads for Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak’s convoy.
The road was completely blocked for traffic for at least ten minutes as the Chief Minister’s convoy left from Archives Hall, Peshawar. Long queues of vehicles could be witnessed and motorists looked perturbed due to the security protocol.
On December 26, the chief secretary issued a notification, stating that the provincial government abandoned undue and extra protocol, restrictions and block of public roads during VVIP and VIP movement.
Following the death of 10-month old girl Bisma in Karachi due to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto’s security protocol, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan had announced that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will introduce a ban on stopping traffic for VIP protocol.
Khan had said that he would meet KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak and traffic would not be stopped for any VIP protocol, even if it is for the prime minister.
