COAS Munir warns nation against digital terrorism, fifth generation warfare

RAWALPINDI – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has warned that digital terrorism and fifth-generation warfare are more dangerous and complex compared to conventional terrorism.

He warned the national in his message on Defence and Martyrs’s Day while highlighted that “as long as we remain united, no power in the world can harm Pakistan”.

General Asim Munir emphasised that September 6 holds a prominent place in history as Defense Day of the homeland. On this day, the armed forces thwarted the enemy’s nefarious designs.

He noted that the spirit of national unity during the 1965 War is a “source of pride for us”. The armed forces, inspired by the spirit of national unity and cohesion, are safeguarding the borders.

The bravery and courage displayed by the forces during the 1965 war served as a guiding light for future generations.

The Army Chief asserted that martyrs are of utmost importance to nation, adding: “We know how to honor and protect the sanctity of martyrs and their families”.

He said faith, piety, and jihad for the sake of Allah are significant tools for confronting enemies.

Gen Asim Munir highlighted that the armed forces have bravely and courageously controlled the menace of terrorism.

He added that digital terrorism and fifth-generation warfare are emerging as new challenges. A nexus between anti-Pakistan elements and foreign players has further complicated digital terrorism.

He called for a renewed commitment to the security and prosperity of the homeland. He urged nation to remain united, set aside differences, and demonstrate exemplary unity and harmony.
