LAHORE – The Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT 2026) will be conducted nationwide just six days after the announcement of intermediate (FSc) results.
Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal revealed it while talking to media at the Parliament House.
Kamal said the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has approved a major revision in the admissions policy designed to reduce students’ reliance on expensive private coaching centers.
The change will come into effect with the next batch of intermediate exam results.
Currently, the gap of four to six months between FSc results and the MDCAT has encouraged a booming coaching industry, placing a financial burden on many middle-class families.
Kamal noted that the new schedule will save students and parents significant costs while easing the pressure of preparing for two separate exams.
