Burhan Wani wanted to join Indian Army, says father

PULWAMA (Web Desk) – The father of slain Kashmiri fighter, Muzaffar Wani has said that his son Burhan Wani wanted to join Indian Army when he was 10.

In an interview to Times of India, Muzaffar Wani disclosed the hidden facets of Wani’s life and expressed that his son had a strong liking for cricket and he wanted to represent Indian side for it.

Muzaffar Wani also applauded PM Nawaz speech in United Nations Assembly adding that Burhan was a freedom fighter like Bhagat Singh who fought against British Empire.

Muzaffar who serves as a government school principle ruled out the possibility of Pakistan’s involvement in Uri, Pathankot and Pampore attacks taking aim at Indian forces for security lapses.

He also urged Kashmiri youth not to pick up guns stressing on the need for peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute through table talk between India and Pakistan.

He claimed that Burhan Wani never killed anyone, on the contrary, he felt sad for 8 Central Reserve Police Force personnel killed in the area.

The government officer maintained that his third son, Naveed would not indulge in armed struggle.

“I am proud to have produced many Kashmir Administrative Service and Kashmir Police Service officers. I like to give good education to kids at school where I work as an administrator and tell them they must take up excellent careers” he said.
