US again urges Pakistan, India to normalize bilateral relations

WASHINGTON – The United States has expressed optimism of good and friendly relations between Pakistan and India and has urged on both countries to normalize relations.

US State Department Spokesperson Mark Toner at a daily press briefing in Washington said friendly relations between the two countries would be in the benefit of region.

He said US wants de-escalation in the political discourse between the two countries.

Mark Toner said both countries should put aside tensions for mutual interest and work towards de-escalating and establishing more normal channels of communication.

He said Pakistan has made significant progress on ending the menace of terrorism.
