Three school girls go missing in Karachi

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Three school girls were reported missing in Korangi area of the city on Friday, a senior police official said.

Nouman Siddiqui, SSP Korangi, said a complaint was registered after Bisma, Iqra and Rabia, all students of ninth class and residents of Saudabad area, didn’t return home from school.

Families of the missing girls got in touch with the school administration at 6:00 pm in the evening to inquire about the girls and got an FIR registered after failing to trace the girls, according to Geo News.

Mother of a girl claimed she witnessed her daughter enter the school premises yesterday. However, the school management refuted the claim saying the girls were not marked present that day.

IG Sindh A.D Khawaja is said to have taken notice of the case and sought report from DIG East Zone. Families of the missing girls held a protest outside Malir Saudabad police station over the incident, demanding the authorities to recover the girls as soon as possible.

According to the police, the mobile phones of the girls were being tracked. Meanwhile, police took into custody three boys who were allegedly in contact with the girls before they were kidnapped.

Police also claimed that text messages from the three girls who had been missing, were found in the mobile phones of the detained boys.
