Two students killed as car turns turtle in Lahore

LAHORE – In a tragic turn of events, two students of the “University of Lahore” died while another was left injured in a road accident in Nawab Town on Tuesday.

Police officials confirmed that the three students were travelling in a car on Raiwind Road when the fatal accident took place.

The deceased, all first-year students at the University of Lahore were identified as Saad Khan Kakar, Mogheez Malik and Uzma Gul.

Sub-Inspector Nadeem said the accident took place near Valencia Town as the driver lost control of the vehicle when a stray animal came in front of the car.

He believed the driver was probably over speeding when he lost control. The car turned turtle and the victims were severely injured. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced Saad and Mogheez dead on arrival.

The female student was discharged after treatment.

The incident saddened the university students who urged citizens to offer prayer for the deceased and follow safety guidelines while driving.
