Imran holds PML-N govt responsible for defamation of army

ISLAMABAD – Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Imran Khan has held PML-N led federal government responsible for the defamation of army.

Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, the PTI supremo expressed that the government was defaming the army under the guise of protest.

He went on to say that only Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would be responsible if a ‘third power’ steps in as a result of the PTI’s November 2 lockdown of Islamabad.

He did not refer to any force or institution citing the derailing of democracy following the protest but clarified that PTI was not staging the protest to bring in a third power.

“Why is a protest happening? Nawaz Sharif isn’t presenting himself for accountability” he said.

“Protest is the PTI’s democratic right. The government will have to bear a severe loss if it tries to stop us.” Imran Khan added.

He observed that the proceedings in Supreme Court regarding Panama Leaks would continue on the sidelines of PTI’s protest.
