Heart of Asia: Sartaj urges India, Afghanistan to refrain from blame game

AMRITSAR- Giving a scathing rejoined to Afghanistan and India over the baseless allegations leveled against Pakistan, Sartaj Aziz has said that constructive efforts were needed for regional peace instead of blame game.

He was addressing the Heart of Asia moot in Amritsar aimed at discussing the issues faced by Afghanistan.

During his speech, he expressed that peaceful resolution of all outstanding issues would improve regional cooperation between the neighbors.

In a veiled reference he also urged Afghan president Ashraf Ghani to refrain from indulging in any blame game as the latter earlier blamed Pakistan for cross border militancy.

He went on to say that Pakistan should not be singled out for blame game in the purview of burgeoning incidents of violence in Afghanistan.

Sartaj Aziz would be heading back to Pakistan today after the conclusion of Heart of Asia conference and would probably be briefing media before the departure.

According to sources Sartaj Aziz would also visit Golden Temple but would not be going to Atari as per the schedule of conference.

Sartaj Aziz arrived in Amritsar on Saturday to participate in the Heart of Asia Conference, where he also attended a banquet hosted in honour of representatives from different states and international observers.
