India flouts diplomatic norms as Heart of Asia moot concludes

AMRITSAR – Indian authorities flouted the basic norms of diplomacy on Sunday as Pakistan’s representative Sartaj Aziz was not allowed to brief media after the session, it has been learnet.

Advisor to Prime Minister on Foreign affairs Sataj Aziz headed to India on Saturday and took active part in moot aimed at discussing issues faced by Afghanistan but as soon it concluded, he was not allowed to talk to media.

Sartaj Aziz had earlier expressed to brief media bout Pakistan’s viewpoint after the conference. What adds insult to the Injury of India is the fact that Pakistan’s staff was made to wait for over an half hour despite the fact that Sartaj Aziz was a state guest.

Moreover, Sartaj Aziz expressed his willingness to visit Golden Temple before leaving for Pakistan however, Indian authorities did not permit him to visit ostensibly due to security issues.

Pakistan’s High Commissioner Abdul Basit confirmed that Indian authorities did not allow Sartaj Aziz to talk with media which was very unfortunate.
