LAHORE (Web Desk/APP) – Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has reiterated Pakistan’s firm resolve to respond to any aggression against Saudi Arabia, media reported on Wednesday.
In an interview, with Saudi Gazette and Daily Okaz, he said that people and government of Pakistan attach great importance to their relations with Saudi Arabia.
Nawaz Sharif said during talks with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Aziz he assured that any violation of sovereignty and territorial integrity of Saudi Arabia would evoke a strong response from Pakistan. He said Pakistan would also play its due role in implementing UN resolution on Yemen crisis.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy strong brotherly relations and cooperation in diverse fields.
Commenting on war on terror, the Prime Minister said Pakistan rendered great sacrifices in fight against terrorism.
He said more than 50,000 people were martyred while Zarb-e-Azb operation is underway to purge country of militancy. He said Pak Army has the capability to respond effectively to any aggression against the country.
To a question regarding energy crisis, the Prime Minister said it had badly affected country’s economic system. He, however, said that efforts are underway to overcome energy crisis and improve economy of the country.
