SUKKUR – One terrorist was killed, while two others managed to flee during an encounter with Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) personnel in Sukkur late Sunday, officials claimed.
According to Superintendent Police Irfan Samon, the law enforcers, during snap checking on Sukkur-Shikarpur link road, signaled three men riding on a motorcycle to stop but they opened fire on CTD personnel. In retaliatory firing, one terrorist was killed, while two of his accomplices managed to flee the scene.
‘The snap checking was being conducted on credible intelligence about some terrorists entering Sindh from Balochistan’ said Irfan.
Officials also recovered explosives, detonators and a handgun from the scene while a search for the accomplices is underway.
