Pakistan to attend peace conference in Kabul on June 6

ISLAMABAD  – Pakistan will attend the international conference on peace due to be held in Kabul, Afghanistan on June 6 amid border tension.

As per reports, 25 countries including America, China, Russia, India, Iran and others are going to participate in the meeting.

The Foreign Office has said that Pakistan will inform the world about efforts being made by the country to ensure peace and bring stability in Afghanistan.

Furthermore, authorities are considering the names of Additional Foreign Secretary Tasneem Aslam and Director General of Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mansoor Ahmad Khan to represent Pakistan in the conference.

President Mamnoon Hussain’s view

Today, President Mamnoon Hussain while delivering a speech on the beginning of the fifth and last parliamentary year of ruling party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) said that peace in Afghanistan is linked to the stability of entire region.

Tussle between Pakistan & Afghanistan

The relation between two neighbouring countries have been shaky but it went more tensed after the unprovoked firing of Afghan forces on Pakistani troops in Chaman. After the firing incident, the border remained close for over 20 days. It was later opened by Pakistani authorities with the start of Ramazan on humanitarian grounds.
