LAHORE – Four robbers were allegedly killed in a police encounter on Saturday in Harbanspura area of Lahore.
According to reports, the robbers, who had created a blockade, opened fire at the police who reached there on information that the robbers had killed a man during a robbery on August 24.
The police retaliated leading to the killing of four robbers while two of their accomplices managed to flee the scene.
Four pistols and a motorcycle were recovered by law enforcers while the dead bodies of the deceased were shifted to the morgue.
Police sources said the robbers were involved in murdering and snatching Rs 0.2 million from a citizen named Faisal on Wednesday, who was heading to the cattle market to buy a sacrificial animal for Eid-ul-Azha.
Police claim the robbers opened fire at him after the victim resisted the robbery and fled the crime scene immediately with the cash.
