Hopeful Zimbabwe says cricket will be ultimate winner

LAHORE (Web Desk) – Zimbabwe Cricket Union Chief Ozias Bvute on Tuesday said the players are hopeful to win against Pakistan, adding that, we want to see cricket as the ultimate winner of the tour.

“Cricket is and will be the winner. We look forward to exciting two weeks of cricket. My team and I are raring to go,” Bvute told a news conference at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

“We have seen the facilities that have been laid out for us and we are more than confident that we will have a successful tour,” he said.

While answering a question about security arrangements, he said “We have all been cognizant of one thing we are here to play cricket. We are here to uphold the spirit of brotherhood which makes us the cricket fraternity.”

Zimbabwe cricket team arrived in Lahore to play two T20 and three ODI matches becoming the first test playing team to tour Pakistan since Sri Lanka n team was attacked by assailants in 2009.

T20 matches are scheduled to be played on May 22 and 24 whereas the ODI matches will be played on May 26, 29, 31 afterwards.
