ISLAMABAD – The Press Council of Pakistan has appreciated the government decision to withdraw the proposed draft ordinance, Pakistan Print Media Regulatory Authority (PPMRA) 2017, which apparently seeks to limit the print media.
In its 15th general council meeting in Islamabad on Monday, under the chairmanship of Dr Salahuddin Mengal, the Press Council observed that any law in violation of article 19 of the Constitution of Pakistan cannot be enacted.
