Police announce Rs0.5m reward for arrest of Karachi knife attacker

KARACHI – The city police on Saturday night released pictures of a suspect allegedly involved in the knife attacks on women in the metropolis’ Gulistan-e-Johar area, officials saying that the lone attacker appears to be a lean man in his 20s.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG), Sultan Khawaja, announced a reward of Rs0.5 million for anyone who would assist in the arrests of the suspect. “The identity of the informer shall be kept confidential,” assured the Karachi’s District East police chief.

The attacks, which are believed to have been carried out by the same suspect, have so far left at least nine women wounded near Rabia City and Jauhar Chowrangi locales of Gulistan-e-Johar.
