Gilani calls on ISI chief for son’s recovery

RAWALPINDI (Web Desk) – Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani on Monday called on Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) Director General Lieutenant General Rizwan Akhtar and discussed the abduction of his son. Gilani briefed the ISI head about his telephonic conversation with his son, Ali Haider Gilani, who is currently in Afghanistan. Ali Haider Gilani, the son of former prime minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani who was kidnapped from Multan in 2013, spoke to his father via telephone from Afghanistan on Sunday. aaa Lt Gen Rizwan assured Gilani of full cooperation from the intelligence agency. It is Ali Haider Gilani’s first contact with his family in two years since he was kidnapped by gunmen during an election rally in Multan on May 9, 2013. On Sunday, following the telephonic conversation with his son and the kidnappers, Yousaf Raza Gilani told the media that the kidnappers did not ask for ransom but demanded their accomplices be freed instead. Gilani said he doesn’t trust anyone with regards to securing freedom of his son other than the intelligence agencies of the country.
