Pakistan repatriates Indian-occupied Kashmir s woman on humanitarian grounds

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan Army has returned a female resident of Indian-occupied Kashmir who inadvertently crossed over Line of Control (LoC) in Chirikot Sector.

According to ISPR, the repatriation of Azmat Jan, wife of Muhammad Shakeel and resident of Degwar Maldialan in IOK, has been made “as a gesture of goodwill and in continuation of Pakistan Army’s efforts to maintain peace and tranquility along Line of Control (LOC)”.

She was sent back through Rawala -Poonch crossing point on humanitarian grounds.

Civil and military officials of both sides were present on the occasion.

In January this year, an Indian soldier, Chandu Babulal Chohan, was arrested by army for crossing the LoC. He was later handed over to Indian authorities at the Wagah border.
