Karachi: Three police men killed in attack

KARACHI (Web Desk) – Three policemen were shot dead in Karachi in an early morning attack as hit-men undeterred by police and Rangers action continued their business of bloodshed, local media reported Wednesday.

As per reports, the firing incident took place in Bhangoria Goth area of Azizabad where unknown gunmen attacked a police patrolling mobile, killing three personnel on the spot at around 6:30 am.

Police said the cops were asleep at the time of the attack.

The victims, who were on their night duty, were identified as Sub Inspector Sikandar, Head Constables Asif and Ashraf. Their bodies were shifted to Abbasi Shaheed hospital for postmortem.

Meanwhile, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal took notice of the incident and sought a report from IG Sindh Police, ordering him ensure immediate arrest of the culprits.

DG Rangers Major General Bilal Akber and Additional IG Ghulam Qadir Thebo arrived at the scene and reviewed investigation

In a separate incident of violence, four people were injured when miscreants hurled a hand grenade in Rangi Wara area of Lyari, police said.
