KARACHI – Just as we entered the year 2018, we had US the President Donald Trump attacking Pakistan in his first tweet of 2018, stating that: “The United States has foolishly given Pakistan more than 33 billion dollars in aid over the last 15 years, and they have given us nothing but lies & deceit, thinking of our leaders as fools. They give safe haven to the terrorists we hunt in Afghanistan, with little help. No more!”
Trump’s hate tweet ignited a lot of unrest and anger in Pakistanis and they have been tweeting their thoughts about it with fervor.
Same could be said about Mahira Khan. When one journalist tweeted to Trump’s reply: “Happy New Year! Hope Pakistan makes it to 2019”, Mahira Khan replied:
