CJP Nisar orders deportation of mentally challenged Indian woman

LAHORE – The Chief Justice of Pakistan, Justice Saqib Nisar visited the Punjab Institute of Mental Health early Saturday, where he took notice of the presence of an Indian woman suffering from mental illness.

Nisar, who was welcomed by Punjab Health Minister Khawaja Salman Rafique, inspected different wards of the institute and upon noticing the presence of the woman, inquired what the lady was doing in this hospital.

The top judge ordered the authorities to contact Indian embassy immediately and return the woman to her country.

According to the hospital administration, the Indian lady was suffering from mental disorder and was under treatment from the last several years.

The chief justice during his visit to PIMH also met patients and examined the facilities provided by hospital administration besides expressing reservations over the quality of the facility.
