Anti-judiciary remarks: LHC orders placing names of six PML-N leaders on ECL

LAHORE – Lahore High Court has directed to place names of six accused involved in anti-judiciary remarks in Kasur city, on Exit Control List, barring them from leaving the country.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Syed Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi conducted the hearing of the case on Friday and directed the concerned authorities to place names of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz’ bigwigs on the no-fly list.

Member of National Assembly Waseem Akhtar, MPA Naeem Safdar, Chairman Baldia Kasur Ayaz Khan and Vice Chairman Ahmed Latif were present in the court hearing when the bench directed to put their names on ECL.

DPO Kasur told the court that two accused Jameel Khan and Nasir Ahmed were absconders in the case.

Besides the ECL embargo, the court suggested to hand over the case to Federal Investigation Agency if it comes under cyber crime regulations. The court adjourned the hearing till May 7.

Earlier, a case was filed by Constable Abdul Rasheed and Major (r) Habib ur Rehman on the grounds that the protestors used inappropriate language against the judiciary and other state institutions in Kasur district of Punjab.

Moreover, Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had taken strict notice of the protest and directed PML-N leader Sheikh Aftab to initiate disciplinary action against party members involved in the protest.
