Sindh govt introduces smart cards for vehicle registration

KARACHI – The Government of Sindh has rolled out smart vehicle registration cards to replace old booklets.

Mukesh Kumar Chawla, Sindh Minister for Excise and Taxation introduced the new smart cards to eliminate forgery and scam in vehicle registration.

The smart cards come with security features and ease of access as compared to older registration books and allow greater flexibility to the authorities to verify vehicles anywhere across the province.

Features

It contains a sim card module that can be linked to an electronic reader to verify a vehicle’s data including, Vehicle owners name, CNIC/Passport Details, Chassis number, Registration number, Date of Registration, Engine Number, Previous registration, Token tax expiry date, Number of Cylinder, Type of body, Colour of vehicle, Maker’s Name, Class of vehicle, Year of manufacturing, Seating capacity, Horsepower/CC and others.
