KARACHI – A minor girl was raped by a shopkeeper of burger shop in Malir area of Pakistan’s largest port city.
The 11-year-girl was allegedly assaulted on Tuesday sparking concerns about the safety of minors in Pakistan’s biggest city.
Speaking about the incident, the girl’s sister shared that she had sent her younger sister to the shop to get food for her, however, when she didn’t return for more than an hour they went to check on her.
Upon reaching the burger shop, she found out that the shopkeeper had assaulted her sister following which the police conducted a medical examination of the victim which confirmed the rape.
The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Asif, was arrested and a case was registered against him.
The accused will be presented before the judicial magistrate on Thursday.
