Samsung drops hint to stay away from ‘notch’ with teaser of Galaxy A8s design

SEOUL – South Korean tech giant Samsung is still out from the trendy or for some people absurd ‘notch’ league, even the company had not introduced any notch in recently launched Galaxy Note 9.

However, the company has decided to tease the tech-savvy buffs at the launch event of Samsung Galaxy A9s and A6s in China with pictures of edge-to-edge smartphone – Galaxy A8s.

The Galaxy A8s to be the first smartphone from Samsung to feature a bezel-less screen.

This would eliminate the need for a notch, preserve screen real estate and allow for an almost bezel-less full-screen experience. The spokesperson on the stage restrained from disclosing more about the phone, so specs, availability, and price are yet a mystery.

Recently, a tipster, Ice Universe, reported that the company is currently one step ahead in in-display technologies – fingerprint sensor, camera, iris scanner and much more – to introduce in its future smartphone lineup.

According to the report, the company had presented four innovations at its OLED forum 2018 on Thursday at Shenzhen in China.

Moreover, the Samsung Galaxy S10, may feature a fully edge-to-edge display with a range of new technologies designed to hide things like front-facing speakers, cameras, and fingerprint sensors under the display.

However, reports also claim that this technology is in its infancy and is just being tested on a handful of prototype phones. With the launch of the Galaxy S10 not far away, this could mean that we will not see this technology in the device.
