Pakistan, Turkey ties growing steadily: Ambassador

ISLAMABAD/ANKARA – Pakistan ambassador to Turkey Muhammad Syrus Sajjad Qazi has said “unparalleled and unique” relations between the two countries are deeply rooted in history, faith and common culture.

“Both countries have unanimity of views on major regional and global issues and always support each other on important national issues,” Qazi said during his interaction with the participants of the 109th National Management Course of the National School of Public Policy of Pakistan in Ankara.

Qazi appraised the delegation on the status of the multi-faceted Turkey-Pakistan bilateral relations and their steady growth in all domains, including the fields of politics, economy, investment, defence, culture and education.

He said the bilateral trade volume was not “commensurate” with the “excellent” political relations, but the Turkish investments in Pakistan were growing at a healthy pace.

“At the moment, these come to more than $2.5 billion,” he added.
