ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Federal Minister for Finance Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a meeting to review the current level of revenue collection and budget proposals for the FBR.
Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue Mr Haroon Akhtar Khan was also present on the occasion.
Chairman FBR Nisar Mohammad Khan informed the meeting that with concerted efforts of the whole FBR team and continued encouragement by the Finance Minister, the FBR was well on course to achieving its revenue collection target of Rs 3104 billion for the current fiscal year.
The meeting was informed that in line with Finance Minister’s instructions, FBR officials had formulated proposals for the 2016-17 budget after holding meetings with different stakeholders including traders organizations, chambers of commerce and industries, professionals and experts.
The Finance Minister expressed satisfaction over the exercise carried out by FBR. He said that this spirit of work should be kept up and efforts made for continued growth in the government’s revenue, which is a key component of the overall inclusive growth strategy.
