LONDON (Web Desk) – Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) key leader Muhammad Anwar refused to record his statement to the Metropolitan Police of London on Wednesday after being arrested on the suspicion of money laundering.

Anwar, according to the officials, declined to answer the questions and instead opted to respond through his legal counsel. The further investigation into the matter is however continue, the statement by police said.

The search operation at the residence of MQM leader is still underway and at least 8 personnel are deployed at the site.

Earlier the London Metropolitan had arrested Muttahida Qaumi Movement senior leader Muhammad Anwar, 64, from northwest London on suspicion of money laundering and shifted him to the police station for further interrogation.

MQM chief Altaf Hussain was also arrested in the same case last year but was released on bail afterwards.
