WASHINGTON – US Intelligence officials say Osama bin Laden’s son and potential successor of terrorist group al-Qaeda, Hamza bin Laden has been killed in an air strike.
The American officials did not give further details about the place and date of killing or if the US had anything to do with his death, according to NBC News.
The New York Times subsequently cited two US officials saying they had confirmation that he was killed during the last two years in an operation that involved the United States.
US President Donald Trump told reporters: “I don’t want to comment on that,” when asked on Wednesday about the reports.
In February this year Hamza bin Ladin – who is believed to have been born in 1989 – had released audio and video messages calling for attacks on the United States and other countries after which Washington fixed one million dollars compensation for his arrest.
