BAGHDAD – US Embassy in Baghdad issued dire warning for all American citizens, leave Iraq immediately. Officials sounded the alarm over imminent attacks in central Baghdad within the next 24 to 48 hours, targeting areas linked to armed terrorist groups.
The embassy’s security advisory paints grim picture, Iran and its allied armed factions previously struck across Iraq, including the Kurdistan region, targeting U.S. citizens and America-linked interests.
The threats are widespread, with potential attacks capable of hitting U.S. citizens, companies, schools, hotels, airports, diplomatic missions, energy infrastructure, and even Iraqi institutions and civilians. Past assaults reportedly included attempts to kidnap Americans, raising fears of escalating violence.
Adding to danger, the embassy warns that some militants may possess official-looking identification, enabling them to masquerade as Iraqi government officials and carry out attacks unnoticed.
The embassy’s urgent message is clear: US citizens must leave Iraq immediately.” Authorities emphasize that delaying evacuation could place lives at serious risk.
