Pakistan not to allow use of its soil for proxy war against any country: Army Chief

LONDON (Staff Report) – Army Chief General Raheel Sharif has said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be a game changer and bring prosperity in the region.

He said this during an interaction at International Institute for Strategic Studies and House of Commons in London.

According to tweets by Director General Inter-Services Public Relations Lt Gen Asim Saleem Bajwa, he said we will do everything to make it a success.

General Raheel Sharif said the military operation Zarb-e-Azb’s success had discernible effect and it will continue pursuing sleeper cells of terrorists across the country.

He stressed that our environment and context needs to be understood that we want to finish terrorists and their nurseries.

The COAS said we expect from the international community to play its part for the regional peace.

He said, while we are fighting various terrorist groups, no new entities could can be allowed to emerge. He said terrorism is a global issue and warrants global response.

Army Chief said the funding of all terrorist organizations had to be checked by all for long term success.

He said we are against use of proxies and won’t allow it on our soil as well.
