CJP takes suo motu notice of rape, murder of minor girl in Jaranwala

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar on Tuesday took notice of seven-year-old girl s rape and murder incident in Jaranwala and summoned report of the incident from Punjab Inspector General of Police within 48 hours.

The body of the ill-fated victim, bearing torture marks, was recovered from fields.

According to father of the victim, his seven-year-old daughter had left her house around 2 pm on Sunday but did not return.

Earlier, a shutter-down strike was observed in Faisalabad’s Jaranwala against rapes and murders of minor girl and Government College University Faisalabad’s student.

All markets and business centres remained closed in the interior city while fuming members of rickshaw union blocked GT road and raised slogans against local administration and government. Protesters are demanding the arrest of culprits behind appalling and heinous crimes at earliest.

Owing to road blockade, the worst traffic jam was witnessed on both sides of the road.

On the other hand, main accused involved in raping and making videos of minor boys ‘Billa don’ is still at large.
