KARACHI (Staff Report) – Former T20 skipper Shahid Afridi Tuesday welcomed the announcement of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint wicket-keeper Sarfraz Ahmed as new captain of Pakistan’s T20 team.
In a statement on micro-blogging webiste Twitter, he said Sarfraz is energetic, passionate and a fighter, calling his appointment as good decision of PCB.

According to PCB’s announcement, a fact-finding committee had suggested the board to pick star player Sarfraz Ahmed as new T20 captain.
Earlier following a humiliating exit from World T20 2016, Shahid Afridi resigned as T20 skipper. Head Coach Waqar Younis had also resigned on Monday while PCB announced to dissolve its selection committee as well.

In their reports, Head coach Waqar Younis and team manager Intikhab Alam, both, crticised Afridi for his leadership skill in their post tournament reports.
Team manager Intikhab Alam, in his report submitted to the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) Fact-Finding committee, claimed Shahid Afridi was an ‘absolutely clueless’ captain.
