KABUL (Staff Report) – A huge blast Tuesday rocked area near to a compound owned by Pakistani embassy in Afghan city of Jalalabad, said local media reports.
Initial information suggested that it was a planted device blast that went off in the third sector of Jalalabad city close to a building that functioned as Pakistani consulate. Indian consulate building is also located in the area.
“It was a minor blast and apparently it not aimed to target consulate buildings,” an unnamed official has been quoted as saying.
There are no reports of causalities in the blast. One official of Afghan police was reportedly injured in the incident.
Security forces and rescue teams rushed to the blast site immediately and cordoned off the area.
