LAHORE (Staff Report) – Future of hundreds of students of O-level in Cambridge University is at stake since the university gave Urdu paper out of syllabus. The university administration had assured the students that they would have choice in portion of ‘Ghazal’ and ‘Nazam’ in Urdu paper and accordingly teachers prepared the student in that way. However, when students appeared in the paper, the university ended the choice and students were asked to solve paper from ‘Ghazal’ portion only. A teacher of local school seeking anonymity said that the Cambridge University is hell bent upon destroying the national language of Pakistan and our students face failure due to different tactics applied by the university. “Change in Urdu paper pattern and giving students no choice in portions of ‘Ghazal’ and ‘Nazam’ reflect that the Cambridge wants to expel Urdu from its syllabus,” he held. A student of the Cambridge said the university had ruined future of many students by giving out of syllabus paper. The student demanded of the government to resolve the issue at the earliest so that future of hundreds is not destroyed. When this scribe contacted to the university spokes person he refused to comment.
