ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information, Fawad Hussain Chaudhry, has announced that the government will compensate for the loss of those who lost their valuables during the three-day long protests staged by a religious group.
In an interaction with newsmen on Monday, the minister lauded the opposition parties for standing by the government during the protests staged by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan against the acquittal of Asia Bibi – a blasphemy suspect.
The minister highlighted that the federal government has sought details of the losses incurred during the protests from the provinces.
‘Everyone knows the real motives of the forces who harness religion for politics’ said Fawad and added that the agitators lacked moral standing.

He asked the international organizations to support Pakistan against those who provoke religious tension.
The lawmaker expressed that Imran Khan was a true lover of the last prophet (PBUH) citing that he even lands in the holy city without shoes.
‘Imran Khan does not want a certificate from anyone,’ Ch observed.
Regarding the ongoing tour of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China, the minister highlighted that the finance minister would apprise the nation about the agreements signed.
‘Historic agreements have been inked with China which stood by Pakistan through thick and thin,’ noted the minister.
The minister further said that Pakistan and China would start trading in yuan, the currency of China, now, instead of dollars.
“The trade between Pakistan and China has been valued at $15 billion,” said Information minister Fawad Chaudhry, addong that the two countries were working on improving their economic cooperation.
The currency swap arrangement between the State Bank and People’s Bank of China has been extended by three years, he said.
The lawmaker quipped that Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (Suparco) should relocate a few of the ‘troublemaker’ politicians in space with ‘no way back’.
Earlier on Sunday, the government started arresting those who were involved in violence across the length and breadth of Pakistan in the wake of protests against the acquittal of Asia Bibi. Hundreds have been nabbed up till now in an operation launched on the directives of premier Imran Khan.
