ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) -A special ceremony in connection with the Defence Day of Pakistan was held at GHQ Rawalpindi to pay tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan during 1965 war.
Army Chief General Raheel Sharif addressed the ceremony.
Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, Minister for States and Frontier Regions Abdul Qadir Baloch, Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah, Prime Minister’s advisor on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz, Parliamentarians, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Rashad Mehmood, Air Chief Marshal Sohail Aman, Naval Chief Admiral Zakaullah, diplomats, military and civilian officials and people from different walks of life attended the ceremony.
Relatives of martyrs also present in the event.
Documentaries showing the valour of the personnel of armed forces were screened and milli songs are being presented on the occasion.
