PIA air hostess held for helping human smuggler flee Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Staff Report) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has apprehended an air hostess of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) after she allegedly aided a human smuggler in fleeing the country.

The air hostess Amna Shahid helped a wanted human trafficker named Ahtashamul Haq to board the flight PK-741 on Wednesday night despite his name being on Exit Control List (ECL).

The flight took off for Saudi Arabia however later on the plane was recalled to Benazir International Airport on the directions of Airport Security Force (ASF) where FIA arrested Mr Ahtashamul Haq, his and the accused air hostess. It was also found that air hostess was wife of the alleged human trafficker.

Ahtashamul Haq worked as a travel agent and student consultant at Chandani Square Rawalpindi under the title “Kraker consultants”.

FIA is also investigating about others among immigration officials who allowed the culprit to move on although his name was on ECL.
