LAHORE – Former South African captain Johan Botha has replaced Darren Berry as Islamabad United’s fielding coach for Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2017, the franchise’s management announced on Wednesday.
Berry, who coaches the South Australia team, was unavailable for the second season of PSL due to family commitments.
Botha, who has previously captained the South Australia team, plays for the Sydney Sixers in Australia’s Big Bash League.
Botha will join Dean Jones, Tauseef Ahmed, Dean Woodford and Wasim Akram in Islamabad United’s coaching staff.
“In Johan Botha, United has a former international captain and someone whom I’ve worked with for years.
“I wish him and the rest of the Islamabad United guys every success in PSL 2,” Berry said.
