Indian forces impose curfew in held Kashmir to prevent protests

SRINAGAR – Following a protest call by Kashmiri leaders, Indian forces on Friday imposed a curfew in occupied Kashmir, local media reported.

In order to prevent protests, Section 144 has also been imposed in different districts including Kulgam, Anantnag, Pulwama,  Baramulla, Badgam, Shopian, Bandipora, Ganderbal and Kupwara.

The killing of Adil Farooq Magrey, who was martyred during a clash between security officials and protesters on Tuesday, caused protests in the valley.

Authorities have put some Kashmiri leaders under house arrest, and have shut all educational institutions across the Kashmir Valley to bar students from demonstrations.
