Maryam Nawaz’s spox attacks PTI’s Azhar Siddique on TV show set (VIDEO)

In a dramatic turn of events, a live television debate in Pakistan spiraled out of control Monday night when a heated exchange between two politicians erupted into physical violence.

The confrontation occurred during a political talk show hosted by Mansoor Ali Khan, where PTI’s Azhar Siddique and PML-N’s Kousar Kazmi — members from both the opposition and the ruling party — were the panelists.

Siddique, who is also a well-known lawyer representing his party in various legal battles, sparked controversy when he apparently made derogatory remarks about the family of Sharif family. His comments, perceived as a direct attack on the personal life of the party’s top leadership, were met with immediate outrage.

As tensions escalated, the ruling party politician lost his composure and, in an unprecedented move, slapped the opposition member across the face. The studio descended into chaos, with the show’s host and crew looked on in shock.

The incident has since gone viral, with footage of the altercation circulating widely on social media.

This incident reflects the deepening political divide and heightened emotions within the country’s political landscape.

It comes just a day after Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) held a political rally in Islamabad, in a show of power to press for Imran Khan’s release. The former prime minister has been imprisoned in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail for nearly a year. The rally, intended to pressure the government for his release, has further intensified the political tensions in the country following fiery speeches by firebrands like Ali Amin Gandapur and Sher Afzal Marwat.
