NAB questions Khawaja Asif over Nandipur Power Project

LAHORE (Staff Report) - Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif has been interrogated by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) official in connection with Nandipur Power Project.

According to a Washington based Pakistani journalist Shaheen Sehbai the minister has also conceded that he has been question by NAB in this regard. Sehbai further believes the Nandipur Power Project scam is first noose around Nawaz government after Pakistan People's Party's provincial government in Sindh.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced that an in-depth audit of Nandipur Power Project would be carried out to see whether the project was transparently executed or not.

Earlier media reports confirmed the Nandipur Power Project has stopped working despite government having spent billions of rupees for the project that was expected to generate 425 MW electricity.
