MQM activist sentenced to life imprisonment over possessing explosives

KARACHI (Staff Report) – An anti-terrorism court on Saturday sentenced a Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) worker to life imprisonment for the charges of possessing explosives and unlicensed weapons.

Syed Maroof was arrested by law enforcement agencies in 2014 during a raid when they confiscated a large amount of explosive material and a cache of arms and ammunition in Mehmoodabad area of Karachi.

Meanwhile an eyewitness has indentified another MQM activist Ubaid K-2 in a murder case. He has already been identified in another murder case after being arrested from MQM headquarter Nine-Zero last month.
