One killed in Chaman blast as terror strikes Balochistan

QUETTA – At least one man was killed while eight others were left injured in a blast in Chaman area of Balochistan on Friday, police said.

Preliminary reports say the explosives were fitted on a motorcycle at mall road and after they went off, several other motorcycles caught fire.

The injured are being shifted to hospital, the officials said.

The blast comes hours after 20 people were left dead in a blast at a busy vegetable market in the southwestern Balochistan province; the explosion left 50 others injured.

The blast, which ripped through Quetta’s Hazarganji sabzi mandi at around 7:35am, was due to an improvised explosive device (IED) that had been hidden inside a potato sack in the market, the city police chief revealed.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for both the attacks.
