SPAIN (Web Desk) – Police in Spain have foiled a bid of human trafficking in north African enclave of Melilla, after a man was found tied under a car’s bumper.
After tearing the vehicle apart, officers were stunned to find a 29-year-old man, from Guinea, tied underneath the bumper, in a bid to sneak him into Europe.
Using a high-tech heartbeat sensor on the Renault Clio, the police stopped the vehicle earlier this week, the Mirror reported.
The migrant, who has not been named, was taken to hospital and treated. He is now in a police holding centre.
Speaking about the shocking find, a police spokesman said: “Our priority was to make sure he (the migrant) got proper medical attention because he was having problems breathing and suffering numbness in several parts of his body.”
In December 2015, similar attempts were also made and illegal immigrants found hidden behind the bumper of cars in Morocco.

There has been a dramatic spike in the numbers of migrants — mainly from Syria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Africa — in the hope of finding new lives in the European Union.
The United Nations refugee agency UNHCR says more than 2,500 people have died trying to cross the Mediterranean last year.
