Rahat Fateh Ali bags lifetime achievement award at Oxford University

LONDON (Web Desk) – Renowned singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan was given a life achievement award by Oxford University.

Presently on a tour of the United Kingdom, Khan was invited by the university to the Holy Hall academy where he picked up the prize.

He was granted a tour of the museum and an old music room was also opened for him to see.

He performed with singers from the institute and also with the fusion project. The singer complimented the music group’s talent.

Khan took to Twitter to express his appreciation.

“#honoured to receive #award from Oxford University. The fusion project students were amazing,” he tweeted.

Fusion project comprises of a group of students who recently released a mashup of Eddie Vedder’s Hard Sun and Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan’s Allah Hoo.

The song was a tribute to Rahat’s uncle and internationally acclaimed singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan.

Rahat Fateh Ali Khan is the first Pakistani to have got this award which has previously been awarded to Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
