In a concerning development from Balochistan, eight security personnel sustained injuries in an improvised explosive device (IED) attack near the Takht area of District Kalat on Friday.
The incident occurred when an IED, planted on the roadside, detonated as a security forces vehicle passed by. The explosion resulted in minor injuries to the eight personnel aboard the vehicle.
Deputy Commissioner Kalat, Bilal Shabbir, confirmed that the device was planted by unidentified individuals. The authorities were quick to respond; rescue and police officials promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Following the attack, Levies and other security forces established a perimeter around the blast site and initiated a search operation to locate those responsible for the attack. The area remains under tight security as investigations continue.
