RAWALPINDI (Staff Report) – Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday conferred military awards to the army personnel for their prestigious services in ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb in the tribal region of country.
The ceremony was held in General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi and attended by a large number of military officials and the families of martyrs and wounded, said a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
As many as 30 officers and soldiers were awarded TAMGHA-E-BISALAT, on the occasion, whereas 33 officers were awarded SITARA-I-IMTIAZ (MILITARY).
One soldier was conferred United Nations (UN) Medal as well.
Medals of martyrs were received by their family members.
