PESHAWAR – The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has unveiled a new digital training initiative aimed at empowering youth with essential skills for the modern job market. This program is designed to offer flexible and engaging learning opportunities, focusing on digital literacy and problem-solving.
KP Digital Internship Program
The KP Digital Internship Program is now offering 200 internship positions to recent graduates. These internships, located in IT companies across Peshawar, Abbottabad, and other areas, are intended to enhance job readiness and provide practical experience in the tech industry.
Additionally, a new online platform, Join IT, has been launched. This platform connects skilled professionals with IT companies in need of technical expertise, facilitating job placements and aligning local talent with industry demands.
Google Partnership for Digital Skills
In partnership with Google and Tech Valley, the KPIT department is providing 5,000 scholarships for young people in the region. These scholarships will enable recipients to gain certification in high-demand digital skills, helping to bridge the gap between traditional education and the current job market.
Support for Startups and Innovation
Chief Minister Gandapur recently welcomed the new startup cohort at Durshal, KPITB’s flagship business incubation center. This group of 20 startups, representing districts like Swabi, Peshawar, Mardan, and Swat, continues Durshal’s tradition of supporting entrepreneurship. To date, Durshal has helped 173 startups, which have created over 1,600 jobs and generated revenues of PKR 751 million.
The KP government has also introduced a new batch of fellows for the Government Innovation Fellowship Program. These fellows will work with government departments to develop digital solutions aimed at addressing key challenges and enhancing public sector performance.
Through these initiatives, the KP government is paving the way for a digitally skilled workforce, ensuring that youth are equipped with the tools and opportunities needed to succeed in a technology-driven world.
